Rainwater tank cleaning

Most rainwater tanks should be cleaned approximately every 2 to 3 years, with some requiring more frequent cleaning due to a larger amount of trees surrounding the tank, dusty areas, ageing tank systems, or those that source water from creeks, dams or bores. Some signs that your tank may need cleaning include dirty or discoloured water, which may stain ceramic surfaces or fences, or water with an unpleasant taste or smell that may cause stomach irritation. Regular cleaning will help reduce the number of bacteria and viruses that accumulate in the tank as a result of factors such as animal faeces being washed into your tank when it rains.

Septic tank cleaning

Riverland Tank and Drain offers septic tank cleaning and septic tank pumping services. Your septic tank breaks down the solid waste that flows through when it receives sewerage from your toilet. It turns the solid waste into “sludge” as the remaining fluid flows safely underground, with the sludge accumulating over time in the septic tank. This sludge needs to be pumped out on a regular basis every few years, which is when our team will use several cleaning techniques to ensure it is functioning its best. This includes pumping, hosing down and scraping all surfaces inside the tank, extracting any built-up tree roots, reporting on the condition of several components of the tank, and refilling the tank with clean water.

High-pressure drain cleaning

Drains can become blocked due to a number of reasons, including large objects becoming stuck, ageing pipes, or overuse of the drains as a result of building extensions. Drainage systems should be inspected for blockages at least annually to prevent further damages and costs later down the track. Our high-pressure cleaning reduces the fatigue to the inside of the pipe, and is an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution.

Grease trap cleaning

Your grease traps require ongoing maintenance, emptying and cleaning to make sure they’re working effectively and to avoid blockages.
